while cities such as philadelphia have just announced long-range plans to install wireless internet nodes (wifi) on every street lamp, mit has already activated over 2,000 access points, and will soon bring coverage to 100% of the campus. the effects of complete wireless coverage are monumental, as traditional work spaces are being abandoned in favor of more enjoyable environments such as campus lounges and public spaces. the ispots project, produced by mit's senseable city lab, documents these changes in real time using log information from mit's wireless network.
