A big thank you to all the volunteers that have supported us during our first deployment in Seattle and those that have contacted us to be involved in the project's further development.

We'll be visiting the homes of volunteers on two consecutive weekends beginning Oct 16-19 and ending Oct 23-26.

Below you can find information about how to be a part of our next deployment.

October 16-19 and 23-26

The SENSEable city lab members will be in Seattle on October 16-19 and 23-26 to attach 2200 tags to trash items that are then thrown away, allowing to track their passage through the waste removal chain.

Since 2200 waste objects is a lot and you know the city much better than we do, we are looking for Seattleites interested in this project to help with this endeavor:

lead volunteers,
that help us tag 20 waste objects at their home.

We would coordinate with you to come to your home at some point between October 16-19 and October 23-26, tag 20 objects together with you and then you throw them away as you would usually do. In this way we intend to simulate at best how local seattleites dispose of their waste on a daily basis and see where it ends up.

If you are interested in supporting this research project as a volunteer, please visit the page below and fill out the registration form.

Thanks for your interest in Trash Track!
