As in the current model for bus stops, most revenues are expected to be generated through advertising. In addition to the standard ad poster, the Adaptable Bus Stop enables targeted advertising. User information such as travel destination, public transportation usage pattern, as well as data from the community message board will be attained as the digital tools on the bus stop are being used. This information will be used to generate relevant ads for individual bus stop users. The targeted ads will be delivered both through the video screen on the bus stop and through users' mobile devices. For example, users could view an ad for a business or service that is offered at their desired destination as soon as they select it on the interactive map. Bus stop operators can also generate revenues from the WiFi service provided throughout the city by the adaptable bus stop system.
